As part of its mission to foster global partnerships and open new markets, MENA INTERNATIONAL, under the leadership of its CEO Dr. Emad Ballack, has successfully spearheaded a key diplomatic and economic initiative aimed at strengthening trade relations between Ukraine and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
In a high-level meeting held at the Ukrainian Parliament, and through the direct coordination and facilitation of MENA INTERNATIONAL, Ukrainian and Kurdish officials gathered to discuss the development of a direct trading platform — a strategic step toward enhancing economic cooperation between the two regions.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Mr. Bohdanets Andriy Volodymyrovych, Head of the Agricultural Committee in the Ukrainian Parliament, and Ms. Tamila Tasheva, Member of Parliament, while the Kurdistan Region was represented by Mr. Kamaran Salah Bajger, Deputy President of the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with several members of the Chamber’s administrative council.
Throughout the discussions, the focus was on revitalizing Ukrainian exports, particularly agricultural products, to the Kurdistan Region, which had previously been conducted indirectly due to geopolitical tensions. Both sides expressed a strong mutual interest in establishing a structured, stable, and direct trade channel.
This initiative reflects MENA INTERNATIONAL’s commitment to playing an active role in bridging markets, facilitating strategic connections, and promoting sustainable economic growth across regions. Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Emad Ballack, this meeting marked a significant step forward in turning these plans into actionable outcomes.
“At MENA INTERNATIONAL, we believe that real partnerships are built on direct engagement and mutual benefit. This project is a testament to our ongoing efforts to create new opportunities that serve the economic interests of both Ukraine and the Kurdistan Region,” stated Dr. Emad Ballack.
The Ukrainian side also announced plans to open a consulate in Erbil, further strengthening diplomatic ties. Additionally, in cooperation with MENA INTERNATIONAL, discussions are underway to establish a formal twinning agreement between Kyiv and Erbil — a move expected to deepen both economic and cultural collaboration.
Among the key outcomes of the meeting were plans to organize an exhibition of Ukrainian products in Erbil and to facilitate the exchange of business delegations, paving the way for long-term cooperation between Ukrainian producers and Kurdish markets.
This achievement reinforces MENA INTERNATIONAL’s position as a trusted partner and key enabler in international trade relations — always working to connect markets, foster dialogue, and unlock new business potential.
